Burning of the chaff

Burning of the chaff.

Once someone was telling me of their pain and the painful things which can occur inside families which spurred me to respond...

"It is true that what goes around comes around... The only difference is that we know now that it must stop with us so that it does not have to cycle out, spreading more pain."

"A long time ago when this funny little man was married with children... he was reading a book and feeling angry. His young son came up and asked him a question. In that minute he exploded and yelled at his son. His son's little face clouded up as he turned around and stalked into the kids room down the hall. When his young son got to the room he went over to his younger sister and yanked her doll away from her. Now his daughter began to holler and cry in anger, fear and pain. With no way to deal with this she then turns and kicks the little family dog which then runs yipping from the room.

A stunned father looks on from his chair...with tears welling up a resolution is formed in him...the anger, fear and pain must stop, and they will stop when they come to me. Years later he learns to release his struggle with these things by surrendering them to the Light, the Love of God, to the Divine Is.

The burning of the chaff goes on in us all. Ram Dass says that in the spiritual journey there comes a point when instead of avoiding the fire we seek to fan the flames of this burning to bring us more swiftly home...so here is my wish for the flames to be fanned in you, that you release the chaff more quickly into the consuming fire of God and that you and your world move swiftly Homeward into the Light and Peace of God."
